Photorejuvenation
Medical laser photorejuvenation, also known as IPL, is performed by emitting a beam of laser light that sweeps over the skin and exfoliates it to achieve wrinkle reduction and skin tightening.
The IPL treatment allows to modify the parameters of the laser light; in this way the treatment is personalized according to the individual and needs of each patient. Medical laser rejuvenation makes it possible to treat several areas instead of doing separate sessions for each isolated area of the face or for each specific skin imperfection. In this way, medical laser rejuvenation achieves a more uniform result and a fresher, more youthful appearance.
Photorejuvenation treatment is performed with IPL laser. This type of light source allows the treatment to be modulated specifically according to the clinical case.
When used for photorejuvenation (exclusively medical treatment), the pulsed light packets that come into contact with the skin are able to stimulate fibroblasts non-invasively, inducing the production of new collagen fibers, which improve the tone of the blood vessel walls, also leading to the filling of fine wrinkles.
In the weeks prior to treatment, and immediately after, it is necessary to avoid exposure to sunlight and/or UV lamps and not to take medications that increase the skin's sensitivity to light.
Sunscreens are essential before exposing the treated area to sunlight to avoid hyperpigmentation. The treatment is performed in an outpatient clinic.
During the treatment
During the pulsed light session, the patient does not feel any painful stimulus, only a slight tingling sensation. The duration depends on the extent of the affected area and the type of intervention, but in general we can say that a single session lasts about 30 minutes.
The interval between sessions and the number of applications varies according to each case and the type of problem.
There will be generalized edema and redness in the treated area, which will tend to dissolve in 24 hours and should be moisturized with emollient creams. Photoprotection is important for one week. Avoid exposure to UV rays and sun lamps and/or sun showers. It takes 4 to 5 treatment sessions to progressively eliminate small unsightly cases.
The treatment is permanently effective; however it is natural that the evolution and aging of the skin causes the appearance of new imperfections that will be evaluated and treated as needed.
The patient can move independently of the treated site and convalescence is not necessary. Specialized medical examination always precedes the first treatment. In fact, each individual, each area of the body of the same subject must be evaluated and defined before starting any treatment.
